At the Meinerzhagen site in the heavily industrialised region of South Westphalia, OTTO FUCHS KG manufactures complex components for the aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors. The modernisation of the hot water heater in the communal showers of the changing room area demonstrates the importance of a reliable and hygienic hot water supply, HWS, in industrial settings.
The challenge
The point of modernising was to update the existing hot water heating system in the changing room area to meet current hygiene and energy efficiency standards. The project required a solution that guarantees hygienically safe operation, reliably covers peak loads, and integrates seamlessly into the digital building management system.
A particular challenge was implementing the modernisation during ongoing operations. The installation technology and pipe routing were carefully replaced while facility operations were largely maintained.
The solution
A modern KTS Water Heater PRO (M station) was installed with digital control and connectivity to the building management system. Combined with the KTS ThermoTank buffer tank, the system is optimally configured to meet the demands of the communal showers. The KTS Water Heater PRO offers features for hydraulic optimisation and more efficient operational monitoring, enabling precise and energy-efficient control of hot water heating. It also supports the ongoing development of the site's technical infrastructure.
OTTO FUCHS KG has been relying on KEMPER products in various areas of drinking water installation for many years. For instance, a drinking water cooling system using KHS CoolFlow was previously realised with a sustainable and efficient flushing concept that supports long-term, hygienically safe operating mode within the domestic hot water system.
